Ah pregnancy. You’ve got me for another long, hot summer. Guess I’ll put this in the Shop and go have a glass of lemonade instead.

Happy 4th everyone! We’ll be at the parade in Freeport, followed by a craft fair at the brand new Freeport Square Gallery, and then off to a family barbecue. As it should be.

But I spent several minutes on 5 Minutes For Mom entering my name in their Mother’s Day Giveaways anyway.

Low odds, maybe. I guess it’s just the thought of winning. Brings me back to the first thing I ever won, way back in the early 80s at a church raffle. I just knew I was going to win the phone (a phone! just for me! and i didn’t even have a phone jack in my room! don’t care!) or the fancy clock radio.

I even wrote about it in my diary. Such was the excitement surrounding this raffle.

Did not win fancy clock radio.

Remind me never to brag about not getting sick again. Because when you do that, sometimes your brother and sister-in-law will come visit you, and they’ll bring a tiny, three-year-old germ machine with them.

And then you’ll find your mom, your dad, yourself, your lovely husband, and even your tiny innocent child the victim of a cruel, cruel, flu-like joke.
